Franz, Faer lead prep tourney

Piedmont High School golfers Kurt Franz and Teresa Faer, respective co-captains of the PHS boys' and girls' teams, post scores near the top of the leader board April 9 in Concord at the 18-hole Contra Costa Prep Championships.

Playing at Diablo Creek Golf Course, Franz fired a 5-over par 77 to tie for 8th place. Faer shot 83 to finish third and miss winning the championship by one stroke.
